GoodStart Childcare Limited

A group of leading community sector organisations have joined together to form GoodStart Childcare Limited to purchase and operate ABC Learning Centres, with the aim of improving the education and care of Australian children.

Through its network of approximately 650 centres, GoodStart provides high quality, accessible, affordable, community-connected childcare that promotes children’s development and learning.

With centres in each State and Territory of Australia, GoodStart is uniquely placed to drive greater collaboration across the childcare sector, by reaching out to government and policy makers, academics, other childcare providers and parent and community groups.

GoodStart values the role of parents as the first and most important carer, and works alongside families by promoting their involvement in our centres to ensure the best possible foundations for their children.

GoodStart operates as an integral part of local communities and as a key component of neighbourhood learning and service networks.

Carers and educators who have a passion for their jobs are critical to delivering good quality outcomes. GoodStart retains, attracts and develops early childhood professionals at each level of qualification.

GoodStart is a not-for-profit organisation that operates with strong business disciplines. Operating surpluses are invested into initiatives that support children in their early years.

GoodStart uses best practice to create centres of early childhood excellence.

GoodStart supports the access and inclusion of vulnerable children and communities.

The organisations behind GoodStart are some of Australia’s leading and most respected not-for-profits: Mission Australia, The Benevolent Society, the Brotherhood of St Laurence and Social Ventures Australia.
