Privacy

A.B.C. Learning Centres Limited and each of its subsidiaries (collectively "ABC") are committed to safeguarding the privacy of the children in our care, and their parents and guardians.

This statement is provided to make you aware of how ABC collects, uses and manages information obtained from parents and guardians concerning the children in our care.

Please note that ABC makes available to you by hyperlink the websites of organisations that are outside the ABC group. Those organisations are not subject to ABC’s Privacy Policy, and before using their web sites, you should be satisfied with the terms of their Privacy Policies.

Collection of Personal Information
The only information ABC collects from this website, other than communications you send to it via this medium, is statistical in nature. No data that might allow a person to be identified, or his/her internet activities to be traced, is collected.

Apart from that statistical data, ABC only collects information that is relevant to the wellbeing, protection and development of children in its care, to manage its businesses and to continuously monitor and improve the quality of its services to you.

Each centre retains some paper based records that are relevant to the day to day care of the children enrolled there. Other paper based records are maintained at Head Office. Some records are stored centrally electronically.

Where it is possible to do so, ABC collects information directly from the parents and guardians of children in its care. Sometimes we may need to collect information from others, such as medical professionals, family members or friend who can assist ABC in providing the best care for your child.

If you do not wish ABC to collect particular information about your child, please discuss this with your Centre Director. The Centre Director will consult with the Privacy Officer on the matter.

Use and Disclosure
ABC will not disclose personal information collected to a third party unconnected with the wellbeing, protection and development of your child without your consent, unless there is a legal requirement to do so.

Other than with the consent of a parent or guardian of a child, ABC will only use or disclose information in circumstances when that parent or guardian would reasonably contemplate its use for the wellbeing, protection and development of a child, to manage its businesses or to continuously monitor and improve the quality of its services.

These commitments extend to disclosure between, and use by, the entities within ABC.

Access and Correction
Parents and legal guardians may request access to their own personal information and the personal information of their children. Ordinarily, ABC will require you to make a request for access in writing, directed to the Privacy Officer identified at the end of this statement. ABC may charge a search and processing fee in some circumstances.

If you believe that our record of the personal information of yourself or your child is incorrect, you should tell us and ABC will correct it.

In some circumstances, such as where to do so might put a person at risk of harm, ABC may decline access to personal information. If your request for access is denied, ABC will tell you why.
